Biography
Tom S. Miner, Principal, brings a wealth of experience to the Garrison Point Capital team. With almost 30 years of investing experience – advising both high net worth and institutional clients – Tom’s fixed income expertise has proven invaluable in today’s challenging environment. He started his career in 1988 with Lehman Brothers in New York where he focused on structuring fixed income products with large institutional clients. In 1992, while still at Lehman Brothers, he moved to San Francisco to focus on building Lehman’s West Coast securitized products business. After 20 years of service, Tom retired from Lehman Brothers to focus on his role as CEO of his successful venture, Xootr LLC, a manufacturer of folding bikes and performance scooters. Tom has also invested in and advised over 30 startup companies over his career. In early 2009, Tom rejoined one of his ex-Lehman colleagues and future GPC partner at Barclays, where they built one of the largest high net worth businesses at Barclays – supervising ~$1.9 bln in fixed income assets for clients and advisors in the US, Europe, and the Middle East. Tom holds an MBA from the University of Utah where he is also an Adjunct Professor of Finance teaching Fixed Income Analysis and Venture Capital
